Coal India recently released a notification, for the recruitment of 1326 candidates for the posts of Management Trainee (E-2 grade) with payband Rs. 50,000 – 1,60,000/- with an initial basic of Rs. 50,000/- per month.

A total of 1326 candidates will be recruited for the various fields and departments available. This recruitment drive is not only limited to Engineers but is also applicable to Finance and Accounts also.

CIL Results

The results of the CIL exam conducted on 27/2/2020 have been released by CIL. The link to checking out the result is given below.

The result have been divided into discipline wise and category wise for each branch.

The interview dates will be imitated shortly on CIL website and will be sent to Candidates registered Email id. Candidates are urged to keep checking the CIL website regularly for more updates.

Coal India Important dates:-

  • Application start – 21/12/2019 at 10.00 A.M
  • Last date of submission with fee – 19/01/2020 upto 11.00 P.M
  • Exam date (Tentative) – 27/02/2020 and 28/02/2020

Coal India Recruitment process:-

  • CBT test ( 3 hours for 2 papers) followed by Personal Interview
  • Paper 1 – GK, Reasoning, Numerical ability, and English
  • Paper 2 – Technical (Related to respective discipline)
  • 100 MCQ’s in each paper
  • No negative marking, 1 mark for correct answer
  • Paper will be in Hindi and English
  • Personal Interview of 10 marks. Date will be informed by E-mail and CIL Website.

Educational Qualification:-

B.E/B.Tech /B.Sc in relevant branch with min 60% marks

Coal Preparation:-

B.E/B.Tech /B.Sc in Chemical/Mineral engg with min 60% marks

Systems:-

B.E/B.Tech /B.Sc in Computer science/Computer Engg / IT or MCA with min 60% marks

Materials Management:-

Engineering degree in Electrical or Mechanical with 2 years full time MBA /PG diploma in Management min 60% marks

Finance & Accounts:-

Qualified CA or ICWA

Personnel and HR:-

Graduates with at least two years full time Post Graduate Degree/ PG Diploma/ Post Graduate Program in Management with specialization in HR/ Industrial Relations/ Personnel Management or MHROD or MBA or Master of Social Work with specialization in HR (Major) from recognized Indian University / Institute with minimum 60% marks.

Marketing and Sales:-

Recognised Degree with 2 years full time MBA / PG Diploma in Management with specialization in Marketing (Major) from recognized Institute / University with minimum 60% marks.

Community Development:-

Minimum two years full time Post Graduate Degree or Post Graduate Diploma of two-year duration from a recognised University/Institute in Community Development/Rural Development/Community Organisation and Development Practice/ Urban and Rural Community Development / Rural and Tribal Development/Development Management / Rural Management with minimum 60% marks. OR Minimum 2 years Full time Post Graduate Degree (from recognised University/Institute) in Social Work with specialization-Community Development / Rural Development /Community Organization & Development Practice/Urban & Rural Community Development/ Rural & Tribal Development/Development Management with minimum 60% marks.

Relevant Eligible branches for Engineering posts and Finance posts:-

Mechanical Post :-

Eligible Discipline – Mechanical Engineering

Not Eligible – Production, Industrial, Automation, Thermal, Manufacturing and combination of any branches with Mechanical engineering.

Electrical Post:-

Eligible Discipline – Electrical,Electrical & Electronics Engineering

Not Eligible – Instrumentation & control, Power system, Power electronics, power engg, and combination of Electrical engg with with any of these brances.

Civil Post :-

Eligible Discipline – Civil Engineering

Not eligible – Civil engineering with Architecture or Structural or any other combination of Civil Engineering.

Finance & Accounts :-

Eligible discipline – Qualified CA or ICWA

Not eligible – MBA or M.Com

Pay Scale:-

  • Selected Candidates will be selected for the post of Management Trainee E-2 grade with pay between Rs. 50,000 – 1,00,000 with fixed pay of Rs. 50,000/- pm.
  • Probation period of 1 year following which pay will be E-3 grade between Rs. 60,000-1,80,000/- with basic of Rs. 60,000/-
  • Also included are allowances of all kinds certainly.

Important points in notification:-

  • Application fee – Rs. 1000/- exempted for SC/St/PwD
  • Age limit – 30 years as on 01/04/2020
  • Bond – Candidates are required to serve for minimum of 60 months (5 years) and will have to sign a Rs. 3 Lakh Bond
  • Medical examination will be conducted as per the CIL guidelines.

CIL is a Maharatna company with good demand for its product and supply in the country. This is a good opportunity for candidates to apply and enjoy the benefits of working for the company. However the 5 year bond is a bit of a dampening factor. Also the location where you may be posted is another factor which needs to be considered. If you are willing to relocate to any location where you are posted then it is a very good opportunity. Certainly the job and its pay is very attractive and may set a good foundation for your future goals that you have in life.
