Deendayal port trust is conducting a recruitment drive and is inviting all Indian nationals to apply for their apprentice programme.
It is a one year apprentice programme for Candidates from ITI, Diploma and Graduate background for various posts and branches.
Educational qualification along with the age limitation and other details have been mentioned in this post.

Trade apprenticeship
Age and Qualification:-
For Trade Apprenticeship:-
Age: Below 28 years (as on 30.08.2020) in respect of any of the trades / disciplines mentioned above
The candidates should have passed the respective trade from ITI in the year 2016 or thereafter.
All ITI qualifications should be recognized by NCVT or State Council of Vocational Training Board.
For Secretarial Assistant:- The candidates should have passed the final examination of Graduation Degree (B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com.) on regular basis in the year 2018 or thereafter.
For Diploma Apprenticeship:-
Age: Below 28 years (as on 30.08.2020) in respect of any of the trades / disciplines mentioned above
The candidates should have passed the final examination of Diploma in Engineering in respective trade (on regular basis) in the year 2018 or thereafter.
All Diploma Engineering qualifications / Graduation Degree (B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com.) should be granted by a State Board of Technical Education, or recognized by the State Government concerned or the Central Government.
For Graduate Apprenticeship:-
Age: Below 28 years (as on 30.08.2020) in respect of any of the trades / disciplines mentioned above
The candidates should have passed the final examination of Degree in Engineering in respective trade (on regular basis) in the year 2018 or thereafter.
All Engineering Graduate shall:
- (a) hold a degree in engineering or technology granted by a statutory University, or an institution empowered to grant such degree by an Act of Parliament;
- (b) has passed the graduate ship examination of professional bodies recognized by the Central Government as equivalent to degree; OR
- (c) holds the qualifications which exempt him from Sections A and B examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India).
Candidates applying for any of the trades / disciplines mentioned above should not have undergone or should not be undergoing apprenticeship training in the past. Candidates who have already worked or are currently working in any Government / Public sector / Autonomous / Private organization are not eligible to apply.
Selection criteria:-
Eligible candidates will be provisionally selected on merit basis. The merit will be prepared on the basis of ‘Sum of marks obtained in all semesters / years’ and ‘Sum of total (maximum) marks in all semesters / years’ [as declared by the candidate in submitted application on DPT website – www.deendayalport.gov.in].
If CGPA / C.P. / Grade / Scale / Point or other nomenclature is mentioned in the curriculum, then the same is to be converted into the Percentage Score as per the rules and shall be inserted (out of Maximum Marks i.e. 100).
Document verification:-
The merit list (s) will be uploaded on DPT website – www.deendayalport.gov.in. The provisionally selected candidates will be informed for document verification through registered E-mail ID, during which the candidates will be required to produce following documents (in original) along with 1 set of photocopies:
- Passport size photo
- Aadhar card (with matching name as per ITI / Graduation / Diploma Engineering / Degree Engineering Certificate)
- SSC / Matriculation Mark sheet
- School Leaving Certificate
- All ITI / Graduation / Diploma Engineering / Degree Engineering Certificate & Mark sheets
- Cast Certificate [SC / ST / OBC (NCL)] (if applicable)
- Certificate of Physically Handicapped (if applicable)
- Proof for reservation w.r.t. Ex. Serv. (if applicable)
- Aadhar linked bank account
The selected candidates shall be required to produce ‘Medical Fitness Certificate’ issued by Chief Medical Officer, Deendayal Port Trust, Gopalpuri Hospital, Gandhidham (Kutch), Gujarat – 370 240 before starting the apprenticeship training.
Reservation for apprenticeship training slots:
The reservation in respect of the SC / ST / OBC (NCL) / PH / Ex. Serv. will be as per the norms of the Apprentices Act, 1961 & amendments published time to time and DPT. Valid Certificate will be verified w.r.t. claim for the reservation [SC / ST / OBC (NCL) / P.H. / Ex.Serv.] at the time of document verification.
Reservation for children of Ex-Servicemen & Armed Forces Personnel is considered as per the details mentioned below:
- (i) Children of deceased / disabled ex-servicemen including those killed / disabled during peace time,
- (ii) Children of ex-servicemen,
- (iii) Children of Jawans,
- (iv) Children of serving Officers.
If the reserved training places can not be filled from the Other Backward Classes, then the training places so lying unfilled may be filled by persons not belonging to the Other Backward Classes.Provided that when the prescribed number of persons belonging either to the Scheduled Castes or to the Scheduled Tribes are not available, the training places so reserved for them may be filled by persons belonging to the Scheduled Tribes or as the case may be, to the Scheduled Caste and if the prescribed training places can not be filled even in the above given manner, then the training places so lying unfilled may be filled by persons not belonging to the Scheduled Castes or the Scheduled Tribes.
Important details:-
- There shall be two kinds of leave admissible to apprentices:
- 1. Casual Leave: 12 days in a year.
- 2. Medical Leave: 15 days in a year.
- The apprentice must observe all the conduct rules applicable to workmen in the DPT. Any disagreement or dispute between employer and apprentice arising out of the contract of apprenticeship shall be referred to the concerned Board of apprenticeship for a decision.
- Each apprentice will be required to purchase and maintain work diary, note books, apron etc. at his / her own cost as directed by concerned authorities.
