Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering(GATE): GATE is a national level entrance exam for engineers who wish to pursue higher education or work in a PSU. GATE 2021 exam is going to be conducted by IIT Bombay in March of 2021 and candidates can get the latest details regarding the exam here.
GATE 2021 registration will be starting on 14th September 2020. Candidates can check the below dates to make sure they apply within the stipulated time.
GATE 2021 is going to be conducted from 5th February to 14th February 2021. Candidates are advised to start their GATE 2021 Preparation if they have not started.
IIT Bombay has also mentioned in this release that they will be making some changes in the subject papers and also the possibility of the candidates giving Two exams of different subjects in the same year.

GATE 2021 IIT Bombay release details
- GATE 2021 exam to be conducted from 5 th February 2021 onwards. The dates are from 5th, 6th, 7th, 12th, 13th and 14th February 2021.
- Two new subject papers are going to be included in this GATE 2021 exam.
- ES(Environmental science and Engineering)
- XH(Humanities and Social Sciences).
- So total subject papers are 27.
- Candidate can write upto TWO subject papers (According to set combinations) and according to exam dates available.
- Also the minimum eligibility criteria for appearing in GATE 2021 has been lowered from 10+2+4 (Final year of engineering) to 10+2+3(Third year of engineering). Third year also Eligible.
- All Test Papers of GATE 2021 will be entirely objective type. Pattern of questions may include
- Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ),
- Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and/or
- Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.

GATE 2021 Syllabus:-
IIT Bombay has made some changes in the Syllabus of the GATE exam for all papers.
Mainly the General Aptitude part of the papers for all subjects has been changed. Some topics have been included in the General Aptitude section.
In the technical section of all papers also, some minor changes have been made.

GATE Exam paper pattern
GATE Exam will be conducted for a maximum of 100 Marks.
All the papers will contain objective type questions. A total of 65 Questions will be asked in the paper.
All papers will have a section of 15 marks for General Aptitude and 85 Marks section for subject related paper.
GATE XE, XH, XL Paper pattern:
In this also the paper will be divide in two parts. General Aptitude part will be asked for 15 marks. And subject related paper will be asked for 85 marks.
Paper pattern for XE: –
The 85 marks for subject paper has been divide as follows.
It consists of Mathematics part for 15 marks which is compulsory and any two optional section for 70 marks can be attempted by candidates out of 7 options.

Paper pattern for XH: –
The 85 marks for subject paper has been divide as follows.
It consists of Reasoning and Comprehension part for 25 marks which is compulsory and any one optional section for 60 marks can be attempted by candidates out of 6 options.

Paper pattern for XL: –
The 85 marks for subject paper has been divide as follows.
It consists of Chemistry part for 25 marks which is compulsory and any two optional section for 60 marks can be attempted by candidates out of 5 options.

GATE 2021 Paper combination
Since IIT Bombay announced that a candidate will be eligible to appear for two papers simultaneously, the combination of the papers has been displayed by IIT Bombay.

GATE Result
GATE result is usually declared in the month of March.
The result is declared with the GATE marks in the paper and the GATE score which is calculated out of 1000.
