Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering(GATE): GATE is a national level entrance exam for engineers who wish to pursue higher education or work in a PSU. GATE 2022 exam is going to be conducted by IIT Kharagpur in February of 2022 and candidates can get the latest details regarding the exam here.
Results of GATE 2022 have been declared.
GATE 2022 registration will be starting on 30th August 2021. Candidates can check the below dates to make sure they apply within the stipulated time.
GATE 2022 is going to be conducted from 5th February to 13th February 2022. Candidates are advised to start their GATE 2022 Preparation if they have not started.
IIT Kharagpur has introduced two new subjects for GATE 2022. The details of the new subjects introduced is given below.

GATE 2022 IIT Kharagpur release details
- GATE 2022 exam to be conducted from 5th February 2022 onwards. The dates are from 5th, 6th, 12th, 13th February 2022.
- Two new subject papers are going to be included in this GATE 2022 exam.
- GE(Geomatics Engineering)
- NM(Naval Architechture and Marie Engineering).
- So total subject papers are 29.
- Candidate can write upto TWO subject papers (According to set combinations) and according to exam dates available.
- Also the minimum eligibility criteria for appearing in GATE 2022 has been lowered from 10+2+4 (Final year of engineering) to 10+2+3(Third year of engineering). Third year also Eligible.
- All Test Papers of GATE 2022 will be entirely objective type. Pattern of questions may include
- Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ),
- Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and/or
- Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.

GATE 2022 Syllabus:-
IIT Kharagpur has made some changes in the Syllabus of the GATE exam for all papers.
Mainly the General Aptitude part of the papers for all subjects has been changed. Some topics have been included in the General Aptitude section.
In the technical section of all papers also, some minor changes have been made.
Also the syllabus of the 2 new papers have been displayed by IIT Karagpur.

GATE Exam paper pattern
GATE Exam will be conducted for a maximum of 100 Marks.
All the papers will contain objective type questions. A total of 65 Questions will be asked in the paper.
Marks distribution of the various papers is given below.

GATE XE, XH, XL Paper pattern:
In this also the paper will be divide in two parts. The General Aptitude part will be asked for 15 marks. And subject-related paper will be asked for 85 marks.
Paper pattern for XE: –
The 85 marks for the subject paper have been divided as follows.
It consists of Mathematics part for 15 marks which are compulsory and any two optional section for 70 marks can be attempted by candidates out of 7 options.

Paper pattern for XH: –
The 85 marks for subject paper has been divide as follows.
It consists of Reasoning and Comprehension part for 25 marks which is compulsory and any one optional section for 60 marks can be attempted by candidates out of 6 options.

Paper pattern for XL: –
The 85 marks for subject paper has been divide as follows.
It consists of Chemistry part for 25 marks which is compulsory and any two optional section for 60 marks can be attempted by candidates out of 5 options.

GATE 2022 AR paper pattern
General Aptitude: 15 Marks, Part A (60marks) and Part B (25 marks).
Part A is compulsory for all the candidates. Part B contains two parts:
Part B1 (Architecture) and Part B2 (Planning). Candidates will have to attempt questions in Part A
and questions in either Part B1 or Part B2 of Part B.
The choice of Part B1 OR Part B2 can be made during examination.

GATE Result
GATE result is usually declared in the month of March. GATE Result declared on 17th March 2022.
