Once the results are announced, the admission portals for all the IIT’s are open for the people to apply.
The COAP portal is open for registration where one can register.
The COAP is a portal where candidate has to register to find the offers that may be offered by the various colleges.
Any offer by any IIT will be communicated through the COAP.
So students must register through the COAP portal, and must apply to individual IIT’s.

Candidates admitted as TA will be considered for a financial assistantships of Rs.12,400/- (per month) for a maximum period of 24 months subject to serving as a teaching assistant in a course / laboratory for 8 hours per week as assigned by the concerned academic unit. The assistantship will be paid on the basis of monthly attendance.
Stipend paid during RA
Candidates admitted as RA will be considered for a financial assistantships of Rs.13,400/- (per month) for a maximum period of 36 months subject to serving as a research assistant in a course / laboratory for 20 hours per week as assigned by the concerned academic unit. The assistantship will be paid on the basis of monthly attendance.

For GATE Candidates

(b) Candidates with equivalent degree and discipline of professional bodies (like Institution of Engineers (India), Institute of Chemical Engineers, Aeronautical Society of India, Institute of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers, Indian Institute of Metals, etc.) are not eligible to apply in any M. Tech programmes of this institute.
(c) Candidates must have valid GATE score (remains valid at the time of Admission) in the appropriate GATE Paper as per Table 2.
(d) Candidates seeking admission to M. Tech. Programmes of the Institute should have o Minimum 60% or CGPA/CPI of 6.0 in 10 point scale (without rounding off) in the qualifying degree for UR/OBC/EWS candidates. o Minimum 55% or CGPA/CPI of 5.5 in 10 point scale (without rounding off) in the qualifying degree for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
For IIT Graduates
Candidates graduating/ graduated from IITs with B.Tech. Degree having CGPA 8.00 and above (on a scale of 10) can apply without GATE Score. The respective department as per allocated seats will review such applications. The number of seats for such candidates will be supernumeric.
For Sponsored Candidates
A candidate working in an academic institution/PSU/Govt. R&D orginizations/Govt. recognized private R&D orginizations/industry, is considered as a sponsored candidate. Such a candidate must IIT (ISM) Dhanbad Information Brochure: 2-Year M. Tech. Admission 2020 Page 3 be sponsored by his/her employer and must have been in employment with the sponsoring organization for at least 2 years at the time of admission.
Candidates working in private firms/organizations have to submit their latest Salary Bank Account statement/Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) statement during uploading documents as well as during the admission process.
The applications of candidate sponsored by the organizations under a MoU between Institute and/or under QIP programme shall be eligible for admisison.
The employer must undertake to relieve the candidate to stay in the campus for the specified period to enable the candidate to complete the programme.
The admission procedure consists of (i) shortlisting through GATE/NET/Appropriate National Level Examination and/or written examination conducted by the department, and/or (ii) interview.
For sponsored candidates having Bachelors degree from Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) having a CGPA of 8.0 or above, the requirement of GATE/NET is waived off.
The number of seats for sponsored candidates will be supernumeric, subject to a maximum limit of 10% of total sanctioned seats.
Stipend paid during course:-
The Financial assistance will be offered to M.Tech. Students (admitted under GATE and IIT Graduates with B Tech Degree) as per MHRD, GOI Norms/Institute rules. Students getting assistantship will be required to assist the department for 8 hours of work per week related to IIT (ISM) Dhanbad Information Brochure: 2-Year M. Tech. Admission 2020 Page 2 academic activities of the department such as laboratory demonstration, tutorials, evaluation of assignments etc.
Sponsored candidates are NOT eligible for any financial assistantships.

Candidates who have a valid GATE score (at the time of interview/written test) are eligible to apply for M.Tech. GATE is not required for application to M.Tech. on a part-time basis or for the PGDIIT programme.
B.Tech. graduates from the IITs with CGPA/CPI of 8.0 or above (on scale of 10) would be eligible to admission without having to appear in GATE.
Candidates applying for the regular M.Tech. programme and who are sponsored by their employers do not require GATE score and can be considered as sponsored candidates provided (a) candidate has been in service for more than 2 years (b) employer grants 2 years of study leave and (c) employer undertakes to financially support the candidate for the entire duration of 2 years.
The eligibility criteria mentioned above is minimum and the disciplines may use higher cut-off levels for shortlisting. Candidates belonging to EWS/SC/ST/PD categories would be eligible for relaxations, as per norms, in the selection criteria.

Candidates employed and sponsored (with full pay and allowances for 24 months) by industry/ government organizations/ private and public enterprises, engaged in R&D work recognized by DST/ engineering colleges recognized by AICTE, possessing at least two years of professional experience as on the last date of receipt of applications at IIT Madras can apply, provided they hold:
(i) B.E./ B.Tech. degree from AICTE recognized Engineering Colleges/ University with first class or 60% aggregate marks in all the four years (no need for having GATE Score); or

Stipend paid during course:-
Financial assistance in the form of Half-Time Teaching Assistantship (HTTA) at the rate of ₹ 12,400/- p.m. (tenable for a maximum period of 24 months) will be awarded to Indian Nationals doing the M.Tech. Programmes, subject to Institute rules. HTTA students are required to assist the department for 8 hours of work per week related to academic activities of the department such as laboratory demonstration, tutorials, evaluation of assignments, test papers, seminars, research projects, etc. The number of seats available under HTTA is indicated in Table 1.
IIT Madras fees:-
When admission is offered and accepted by candidates, the candidates have to pay ₹ 20560/- in the case of General/ OBC candidates and ₹15560/-. in the case of SC/ST candidates using the online payment facility available on the website.
In case a candidate withdraws his/her offer of Admission,a Processing Fee of Rs. 1000/- will be retained by the institute and the remaining amount would be refunded.
If a candidate withdraws the offer of admission made in the Additional Round of Offer (if any) after the Admission Day (21st / 22nd July, 2020) , no fee will be refunded.




(NS) Non-Statutory Fees
+ SC/ST, PwD Students are exempted from payment of Tuition Fee.

Stipend paid during course:-
GATE fellowship at the rate of Rs. 12400/- p.m. (tenable for a maximum period of 24 months) will be awarded to Indian Nationals doing the M.Tech. Programmes, subject to Institute rules. They are required to assist the department for 8 hours of work per week related to academic activities of the department such as laboratory demonstration, tutorials, evaluation of assignments, test papers, seminars, research projects etc.

IIT Roorkee admission information
IIT Roorkee is conducting M.Tech admissions from 16th March onwards.
Students should register on COAP portal and then use COAP registration number to login to IIT Roorkee.
The Application fee is as:-

For GATE candidates:-
Admission to Postgraduate programmes leading to M.Tech. / M.Arch. / M.U.R.P. degree will be open to the candidates qualified in GATE on the basis of valid Normalized GATE marks in the disciplines with minimum of B.E/ B.Tech in respective relevant field.
For IIT graduates:-
Direct admission without GATE will be offered to IIT graduates with a minimum CGPA of 8.00 on a 10 point scale.
Stipend paid during course:-
Scholarship/Assistantship shall be provided to the candidates as per rule.
B.Tech. degree holders from any IIT with minimum CGPA of 8.00 on a 10 point scale and given admission without GATE are also eligible for MHRD assistantship.

IIT Roorkee is conducting M.Tech admissions from 16th March onwards.

Candidates, who are offered admission, will be informed through EMAIL ONLY. Their names will also be notified in the admission portal.

Stipend paid during the course:-
Financial assistance in the form of Institute Assistantships is available to the students admitted to M.Tech., M.Pharm. under Full Time regular registration category. Presently the Assistantships @ Rs. 12,400/- per 2 month is available.
A student shall be assigned duties up to eight hours per week by the Departments/Schools to avail the Teaching Assistantship.
The renewal of assistantship is contingent on the student’s satisfactory performance in the academic programme and in the discharge of assistantship duties on a semester to semester basis.
