Panchayati Raj Punjab Department of Rural and Panchayats Recruitment 2020: PBRDP recruitment 2020 recently released the notification regarding the vacancy of 81 Junior Engineer posts that are available to students who are eligible to apply.

PBRDP recruitment is for Engineers of Civil and Electrical departments. A total of 81 vacancies are up for grabs for eligible candidates.

This recruitment is for candidates belonging to Civil and Electrical Branches. A total of 81 vacancy is available for candidates.

On direct recruitment during probation period of three years including
extended probation period, if any, an employee shall be paid fixed
emoluments, which shall be equal to the minimum of the pay band of the new post and during probation period he/she shall not be entitled to any grade pay, annual increment or any other allowance except travelling allowance.

On successful completion of probation period, pay of an employee shall be fixed at minimum of the pay band of the post including grade pay. All other allowance admissible to the post shall be payable thereafter.

PBRDP Eligibility criteria

Junior Engineer (Civil)

Should possess three years Diploma in Civil Engineering of the State Board of Technical Education or should possess equivalent Diploma in Civil Engineering from any other institution recognised by All India Council for Technical Education.

Junior Engineer (Electrical)

Should possess three years Diploma in Electrical Engineering of the State Board of Technical Education or should possess equivalent Diploma in Electrical Engineering from any other institution recognised by All India Council for Technical Education.

The above qualification is basic minimum qualification required for the post. However candidates who have acquired qualification of Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering, as the case may be, either through lateral entry after Diploma or directly, are also eligible to apply for these posts.

Should possess Punjabi of Matric or its equivalent standard from any recognized Institution/Board or should have passed the Punjabi Language Proficiency Test conducted by the Department of Languages, Government of Punjab.
Provided further that where a ward of Defence Service Personnel, who is a bona fide resident of Punjab State, is appointed by direct appointment, he shall have to pass an examination of Punjabi Language equivalent to Matriculation Standard or he shall have to qualify a test conducted by the Language Wing of the Department of Education of Punjab Government within a period of two years from the date of his appointment.
Provided further that where a War Hero, who has been discharged from defence services or paramilitary forces on account of disability suffered by him and his widow or dependent member of his family, is appointed under the instructions issued in this behalf by the government, the person so appointed will not be required to possess aforesaid knowledge of Punjabi language.

PBRDP Age limit

Candidates should not be below 18 years and above 37 years of age as on 01.01.2020

The upper age limit is relax-able up to 45 years for all State/Central Government employees.

The upper age limit is relax-able up to 42 years for Scheduled Caste/Backward Classes of Punjab.

Ex-Servicemen of Punjab Domicile shall be allowed to deduct the period of his service in the Armed Forces of Union from his actual age and if the resultant age does not exceed the maximum age limit prescribed for direct appointment to such a vacancy in the service rules concerned by more than three years, he shall be deemed to satisfy the conditions regarding age limit.

The upper age limit is relax-able up to 42 years for Widows, Divorcées women and certain other Categories of Women.

The upper age limit is relax-able up to 47 years for Persons with Disability of Punjab.

PBRDP Selection criteria

Selection will be purely based on the competitive written examination conducted by Department of Rural Development & Panchayats through Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala for all the eligible candidates.

There will be no interview. The merit will be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidates in the written examination.

Written exam Details:

Exam duration : 2 hours

Number of questions: 120

Each question consists of 1 mark.

The question paper for the examination shall be provided in English except for the portion relating to Punjabi subject.

PBRDP Exam details

Minimum qualifying marks will be 25% of total marks of examination for the General Category and 20% for all other categories.

Exam will be conducted in Patiala only.

PBRDP Online registration process

  • Candidate can apply online at www.govt.thapar.edu from anywhere at home, at any place where there is an access to the Internet.
  • Fill the application form.
  • Every successful registration will be allotted the Login id and password.
  • On Day 2, application fee can be paid either online or through bank challan in any of the State Bank of India branch. Link to pay fee online will be made available online in candidate’s login on next day of the application form filling.
  • On the next day (Day 3), you will be shown links to upload your photograph and signature. After uploading the photograph and Signature you can find the link to view the application form.
  • Candidates are not required to send the hard copy of the application form.
  • Incomplete form or forms filled with wrong information the candidature shall stand automatically cancelled/rejected and shall not be considered for further processing.

  • Only Online registered application forms will be entertained.
